Felt pennant sizing is less about picking the biggest option and more about matching the size to where the pennant will end up. A mini that lives on a rearview mirror and a jumbo that hangs over a gym door are solving different problems. Getting the size right the first time saves a reorder.

This guide walks through the four size families we make most often, what each is for, and where swallowtail and custom die-cut shapes fit. Every size shares the same felt construction and decoration options, so the choice is mostly about scale and display.

Mini (4"x9")

Mini pennants are the giveaway and impulse-purchase size. They suit car mirrors, lockers, backpacks, gift bags and open-house handouts. Because they use the least material, they carry the lowest per-unit price, which makes them the natural choice for high-volume runs and fundraisers.

Standard (9"x27" and 12"x30")

The standard pennant is the classic wall and spirit-store size and the one most people picture. It reads clearly across a room, holds a team name plus a mascot comfortably, and is the workhorse for schools, teams and retail displays. The 12"x30" gives a bit more presence when wall space allows.

Jumbo (18"x40" and 24"x60")

Jumbo pennants are display pieces. They work over gym doors, behind podiums, on stage backdrops and at trade-show booths where you need to be seen from a distance. They use the most material and the most decoration area, so they sit at the top of the price range and are usually ordered in smaller counts.

Swallowtail and custom shapes

A swallowtail has two tails instead of one point, for a more formal, heraldic look that suits alumni, reunion and ceremonial pieces. We also cut custom shapes when a standard triangle does not fit the brand, and we make pennant strings and banners for stringing multiple flags across a space.

Optional finishing affects how a size reads. A sewn band header with grommets, ribbon streamers or tassels, a dowel and a hanging cord all add presence, which can let a standard pennant do a job you might otherwise size up for. Across all sizes, pricing runs roughly $4 to $16 per pennant at our 25-piece minimum.
